- Transforms from a model rocket to a helicopter for descent
- Flies 500 feet on an A-size model rocket engine.
- Innovative design. The rotor blades fold up and are stowed inside the tube for launch.
- Made in USA
The Mini-Copter is a small helicopter-recovery model rocket. It launches like a rocket, but descends slowly like a helicopter. What makes this model unique is that it has blades that are curved so that they slide into a tube when they are stowed into their launch position. By putting them inside the tube, the drag on the rocket is lowered and the model can really boost to a high altitude. You'll be impressed at how high it goes on inexpensive rocket engines. It is designed to use those 13mm diameter motors, so it can be flown on 1/4A, 1/2A, and A size model rocket motors. Because it flies so high with the A-size motor, we recommend flying it first on a 1/2A3-4T motor for the first flight. This is a challenging kit to build because the parts are small. But it is worth it because seeing it spin and hover in the sky is breathtaking. To launch this as a rocket, you'll need rocket engines, an a launch pad set.
